Air Greenland has posted a status on the company's website on Tuesday. It comes after several weeks of problems with the handling of traffic in East Greenland.

The company reports that an H125 helicopter landed in Tasiilaq on Tuesday after flying from Narsarsuaq, and this means that helicopter flights in the area have resumed after a longer period without regular flights.

According to Air Greenland, a collaboration with Greenland Copter has meant that shuttle flights could be carried out between Tasiilaq and Kulusuk on Tuesday, and Dash-8s have been flown between Nuuk and Kulusuk.

The company writes the following about the coming days:

- We regret the significant inconvenience that the cancellations of recent weeks have caused to our passengers, writes Air Greenland.

Technical conditions and poor flight conditions

According to the company, the cancellations are due to technical conditions on a helicopter as well as periods of poor flight conditions and other challenges beyond the company's control. It does not mention which ones.

Air Greenland cannot say when the situation will be fully normalized and when all affected passengers and all cargo will reach their destinations.

- We will update the website continuously as new information becomes available, writes Air Greenland.

Sermitsiaq contacted Air Greenland earlier this week with questions about the challenges in East Greenland and is awaiting a response. Among other things, we have asked how many passengers have been affected and how long the situation has been going on.
