Naalakkersuisut members and the business committee are expected to participate in the raw materials fair in Toronto

The Greenlandic delegation to this year's raw materials fair in Toronto is expected to be record-breaking, with the participation of two members of Naalakkersuisut and members of the business committee. This is the 10th time that the Greenland Government, in collaboration with the Confederation of Danish Industry and Greenland Business, is organizing a business promotion at PDAC in Toronto. This year's delegation will be record-breaking with around 100 people from both the Greenland Government, the business committee, departments and companies.

Although the program is not yet fully in place for this year's Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada conference (PDAC) in Toronto, it is expected that both Naalakkersuisut for Business, Raw Materials, Energy, Justice and Equality, Naaja H. Nathanielsen (IA) and Naalakkersuisut for Nature and Environment, Peter Borg (D) will participate with an entourage of officials and professionals.

In addition, members of the Business and Raw Materials Committee in Inatsisartut will participate.

– I look forward to seeing what happens at such conferences and what is discussed. I expect to gain more knowledge about how agreements are made in relation to our country and how the self-government promotes Greenland. It will be interesting to participate, says chairwoman of the committee, Mariane Paviasen, who is participating for the first time.

In addition to Mariane Paviasen, Bentiaraq Ottosen, Hans-Erik Enoksen, Juno Berthelsen and Lars Poulsen from the committee are expected to participate in this year's PDAC fair.

Dialogue meeting with the raw materials industry

Among other things, the members of Naalakkersuisut will be responsible for organizing "Greenland Day", where companies will talk about their experiences working in Greenland. In addition, a dialogue meeting with the raw materials industry will be held.

According to the Department of Mineral Resources, work is also underway to arrange a meeting with a relevant Canadian minister regarding increased cooperation between Greenland and Canada.

In addition, the self-government usually awards the “Prospector and Developer of the Year” award, which in 2025 went to Amaroq Minerals, which has a license to mine gold from Nalunaq. In previous years, the award has gone to, among others, Greenland Resources, Bluejay Mining, Tanbreez, North American Nickel, London Mining and Ironbarks Zinc.

Record-sized delegation

Director of Greenland Business Christian Keldsen sees the record participation as an expression of Greenland's desire to nurture good relations and send a clear signal that it supports business development and industry.

This year, there is a record-sized delegation of around 100 people, which, in addition to the members of the Greenland Government, the business committee and representatives from Danish Industry, Greenland Business and the Danish Embassy in Canada, also includes a large number of companies.

The list of participating companies so far includes 60North Greenland, Air Greenland, Arctic import, Arctic Law Greenland, BDO, Blue Water Shipping, BMS, Cowi, EMJ-Atcon Greenland, Greenland Escape, Greenland Travel, Greenland Copter, Grønlandsbanken, H.P. Entreprenørmaskiner, HK Transport, Illit Forsikringit Agentur, KSMS, Lumina Sustainable Materials, Nalik Ventures, Nuna Advokater, Pangaea Logistic Solutions, Rambøll, Royal Arctic Line, Sermeq Helicopters, Sikuki Nuuk Harbour and Tusass.

Canadian opportunities

According to the director of the Greenland Business Association, Christian Keldsen, Greenland's focus at this year's fair is, among other things, the Canadian cooperation opportunities, including investments.

– Greenland cultivates good relations and sends a clear signal that it supports the industry. The focus at Greenland Day is both on cooperation with Canada and the EU, says Christian Keldsen.

The mineral resources fair in Toronto is the world's largest, and 27,000-30,000 participants from all over the world are expected. The fair takes place from 1-4 March. This is the 10th time that the Government of Greenland, in collaboration with the Confederation of Danish Industry and the Greenland Business Association, has arranged a business promotion at PDAC in Toronto.
