About the Koda Awards
The award committee for this year's nominations is Leillah Nora Olsen, Pauli Wille, Pipaluk Lynge Berthelsen, Jorsi Sørensen, Karl Enok Mathiassen and Nukannguaq Petersen.
The Koda Awards are based on Koda's Greenlandic cultural funds. Koda's cultural funds support Greenlandic music and music creators. The first recipient of the Koda Awards, then called the Greenland Prize, was Ole Kristiansen in 1991. The Koda Awards have since been an annual event that focuses on Greenlandic musical talents.
- It has been a fantastic year for music in Greenland, and it has been a difficult task for us to choose winners of the Årets Pris and the Talentprisen. The field of nominees represents an impressive breadth and creativity, which bodes well for the future.
- We are proud to be able to pay tribute to both the established stars and the new talents who dare to lead the way, says Nukannguaq Petersen.
