On Monday night at 00:37, the Greenland Police received a report from an anxious family member of a 17-year-old boy.
The 17-year-old was on his way on a dog sled from Tasiilaq to a nearby village, and the family member was worried about the boy.
Chief of Police Aqqalu Petersen tells Sermitsiaq that shortly after the report, the police decided to launch a SAR operation based on the circumstances of the case.
A few hours later, the police, in collaboration with the local fire department, reached the 17-year-old with the help of snowmobiles, and the 17-year-old was brought back to Tasiilaq.
