A delegation of politicians from the US Congress is planning a visit to Nuuk this weekend.
This is stated by the US Consulate in Nuuk in a press release.
According to the consulate, the visit is at the invitation of the Government of Greenland, and the politicians are arriving on an official government plane.
The consulate does not disclose which politicians are in the delegation, but according to Sermitsiaq's information, US Senator Lisa Murkowski is expected to be among the participants.
She recently visited Denmark with a delegation to discuss the tense situation surrounding Donald Trump and his administration's desire to take over Greenland.
According to the consulate, during their stay in Nuuk, the congressmen will meet with government officials, members of parliament, business leaders and others to better understand the perspectives of the Greenlandic government and people and to discuss bilateral relations with the United States.
