Ane Lone Bagger, 59 years old, who was a former member of the municipal council in the then Qaasuitsup Municipality and most recently Naalakkersuisoq for Education from 2018, wants to return to politics.

Now she announces that she wants to enter the Folketing for Siumut.

Among key focuses on climate change:

- As a result of climate change, interest in the Arctic has been very high in recent years. Our country is in the middle of the center of the great powers, and therefore our country needs a clear voice in the Folketing. There is even considerable pressure from countries that we otherwise consider close partners, which creates insecurity for all of us, according to a press release.

Focus also on independence

During her time as naalakkersuisoq, Ane Lone Bagger has worked to create the right framework for the current Arctic Basic Education. At that time, she placed great emphasis on education being the key to Greenland's path to independence and worked for an Arctic strategy, it is said.

Since leaving politics, Ane Lone Bagger has been involved in society in other ways. Among other things, she was a member of the Advisory Board of the Arctic Initiative from 2020 to 2022 and has been a member of the board of Visit Greenland.
