Qamutit SAR Group has recently played a key role in two rescue operations in connection with avalanche accidents near Nuuk using snowmobiles.

Now the rescue group is getting a financial helping hand in the form of a sponsorship from Bankivik.

In a press release, the group explains that the sponsorship means that Qamutit SAR Group will receive an amount every year for three years to purchase safety and rescue equipment as well as the opportunity to participate in courses that strengthen the group's skills within Search and Rescue (SAR) - especially during the winter months.

"This agreement gives us the opportunity to develop our skills and ensure that we have the necessary equipment to help when it really matters. It is an important support for our volunteer work," says Lars Borris Pedersen, Team Leader at Qamutit SAR Group.
