On Monday, a boat caught fire at sea off Aasiaat. The police received the report a little after noon, says chief of patrol Aqqalu Petersen.
The fire had started in an oil boiler on the boat and was extinguished shortly afterwards.
The boat was completely damaged and sank, the chief of patrol informs.
- But the owner is safe, there were no injuries, says Aqqalu Petersen.
The boat was not far out in the water, so everyone in Aasiaat could watch while it burned.
