On Wednesday evening there was a fire at Nuussuaq School. It was 6:17 p.m. when the police received a report of garbage bags on fire at the entrance to the school, and the fire department responded.
Video surveillance subsequently revealed that it was two children who had set fire to the waste, says the police chief. They have both been identified and their parents contacted.
The children are under the age of criminal responsibility, and the case is being transferred to the social services.
The fire department has confirmed that school could continue as normal on Thursday after the airing has cleared.
The police also inform that on February 5, flags will be flown at half-mast briefly during the funeral of a colleague in Denmark.
The rest of the day the flag is raised to half-mast in celebration of Queen Mary's birthday.
