Arnaaraq Sandgreen, a cook at the Kulloq kindergarten in Aasiaat, came up with the idea of ​​letting the children vote on what they would like to have for lunch.

– I have had the idea for a long time because I have seen children vote that way.

- I have been waiting for a long time for a day when I could let them try voting, Arnaaraq Sandgreen tells AG.

The children voted for five different dishes, which they would then eat, the Municipality of Qeqertalik states in a press release.

– Sausage dish was the most popular, while rice porridge came in second place, says Arnaaraq Sandgreen.

Before the vote, the children were instructed on how to vote.

The children stood in line, and when it was their turn to vote, they stated their date of birth. They were then taken to the voting booth, where the ballot was placed in the box and later counted together with the oldest kindergarten children who will start school in the summer.

“The winners were happy, the losers were sad, and three children had voted blank,” says Arnaaraq Sandgreen with a warm smile.
