Barely four out of ten Danes believe that the United States will launch an invasion of Greenland during Donald Trump's presidency.

This is shown by a measurement that the research institute Voxmeter has conducted for Ritzau.

The survey was conducted as a questionnaire survey between January 6 and January 9.

A total of 1005 respondents completed the questionnaire.

When asked whether they believe the United States will launch an invasion of Greenland during Donald Trump's presidency, 10 percent respond that they "strongly agree" with the statement.

28.3 percent respond that they "agree" with the statement.

Conversely, a total of 28.6 percent declare themselves either "disagree" or "strongly disagree".

The US President, Donald Trump, has recently reiterated his desire for Greenland to become part of the United States.

Most recently, on Friday, he emphasized his interest in Greenland to reporters at the White House.

- I want to make a deal. It's the easy way. If we can't do it the easy way, we're going to do it the hard way (in English "If we don't do it the easy way, we're going to do it the hard way", ed.), Trump said, according to the AFP news agency.

The US President has repeatedly said that it is essential for national security that the US gain control of Greenland.
