There is a shortage of people in home care in Nuuk, and this is now having consequences for the level of service.

Home care is forced to switch to so-called emergency routes, writes Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq on its website.

The emergency routes include essential assistance such as help with food preparation and fluid intake, toilet visits and reminders to take medication, which you can see more about on the municipality's website.

- All other home help has been temporarily suspended until there is sufficient staff again, writes Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, which is working to fill the vacant positions.

The elderly care area in the municipality would also like to encourage relatives to help home care recipients.

The reduced service level is expected to be in effect until March 1.
