The Greenland Police Chief of Staff announces that a 29-year-old man has received an immediate sentence of 11 months in prison. The sentence was handed down on Saturday in the Sermersooq District Court.
The man was caught by customs officers at Nuuk Airport on Friday with approximately 2.8 kilos of hashish in his luggage.
He confessed to the possession without reservation, and therefore the court was able to decide his case with an immediate sentence the very next day.
Following the sentence, the 29-year-old man has been released with a view to serving a sentence at a later date, the police inform.
