Media: Clifford Stanley's signature collection was reported to PET before the visit

- I'm trying to give the Greenlandic people a chance. It's up to the people themselves. It's not my choice. It's their choice, 86-year-old Clifford Stanley tells Sermitsiaq.

It starts with a Facebook post from a citizen of Nuuk, who was offered 200,000 dollars by an English-speaking man if he would sign a document that Greenland should become part of the USA.

It quickly turns out that it is about the American Clifford Stanley, who is in Nuuk to collect signatures and investigate the support for the USA taking over Greenland.

A project that the Danish Police Intelligence Service (PET) already knew about before the American's visit. This is reported by KNR.

The media has been in contact with Arctic Print's director Klaus Karlshøj Poulsen, who in February received an inquiry from Clifford Stanley about printing a homemade referendum.

- Nationally harmful business

According to KNR, the director rejected the request from the American.

- I am writing to him that I believe he is engaging in activities that are detrimental to the country and that we will report him to the authorities, says Klaus Karlshøj Poulsen to KNR.

Klaus Karlshøj Poulsen reported the case and was subsequently visited by PET, who, according to him, said that they were taking the case seriously.

Clifford Stanley has said in an interview with Sermitsiaq that he himself believes that he is here to help people.

- I am trying to give the Greenlandic people an opportunity. It is up to the people themselves. It is not my choice. It is their choice, says 86-year-old Clifford Stanley to Sermitsiaq.

His signature collection has also been reported to the authorities after he appeared in Nuuk.

This is confirmed by the Greenland Police, who say that they have received a report in the case, which cannot be ruled out as being related to the current political situation.
