When His Majesty King Frederik X lands in Nuuk on Wednesday, February 17, he will be given a warm welcome.

AG has taken to the streets to hear the opinions of the citizens and asked what they think of the royal family and who their favorite is.

The down-to-earth king enjoys great support, Queen Margrethe II is missed, and the young princes and princesses are also popular.

What do you think of the royals?

– I have never been against the royal family – quite the opposite. Since I was a child, I have been a fan. When they visit Greenland, I like to go out and see them or follow them on television.

Who is your favorite in the royal family?

– Right now it's the twins, Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent. When my daughter was little, we met them in Kolonihavnen. They greeted her, and later at the municipal office they recognized her. That made me really happy. I think it's wonderful that they remembered her.

What do you think of the royals?

– I'm glad that our king loves Greenland so much. I'm looking forward to his arrival.

Who is your favorite in the royal family?

– It's the king himself, Frederik, of course.

Asta Høy, Nuuk.

Asta Høj, fan of Princess Isabell.

What do you think of the royals?

– I don't follow them that much anymore. I followed Queen Margrethe more closely. I don't think the king is quite as important yet.

Who is your favorite in the royal family?

- Of course, Princess Isabella, because my daughter is also called Isabella.

Athena Andersen, Nuuk.

Athena Andersen, fan of Queen Margrethe.

What do you think of the royals?

- I've never followed them much and don't actually know exactly what they do. To me, the monarchy seems a bit old-fashioned. If it became clearer how they actually contribute to society – not just as symbols, but in action – it would be more interesting.

Who is your favorite in the royal family?

I like Queen Margrethe the most. I think she's fantastic at presenting herself without being too rigid, even though she's a queen, and at the same time she seems human. As an artist, she can create and sew; I've seen a little of that – not much, though. But I can definitely name her as my favorite in the royal family.

Lise Motzfeldt Svenningsen, Nuuk.

Lise Motzfeldt Svenningsen, fan of Queen Margrethe.

What do you think of the royals?

- I'm not that interested in them, I must admit, that doesn't mean I don't like them. A lot of people like them, my mother really liked them, but my father didn't like them that much, maybe I inherited that. I don't have anything against them.

- I must admit that I'm not that interested in them. That doesn't mean I don't like them. My mother was enthusiastic about the royal family, while my father didn't like them – maybe I got that from my father. I'm not against them anyway.

Who is your favorite in the royal family?

- I have to say that I like Queen Margrethe the most. I also really liked Prince Henrik, but he died early. I think I like Queen Margrethe the most, even though I don't follow her that much. This applies to her leadership style, her opinions and her artistic abilities. When they give their New Year's speech, I have to say that I listen. Their speeches have a good message, and I follow them a lot.

Therkild Benjaminsen, Nuuk.

Therkild Benjaminsen, fan of the king.

What do you think of the royals?

- I don't follow the royal family that much. I think they do their job as royals according to the law, but not much else.

Who is your favorite in the royal family?

– King Frederik 10. He seems down-to-earth. When he comes on Wednesday, I think many people will show up. Maybe I'll come myself.
