Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq gets new director for children and schools

Tina Evaldsen will lead children and youth at Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq in the future.

A new director for children and schools has been found in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. The municipality has hired Tina Evaldsen, whom the recruitment committee has unanimously identified as the right candidate for the position.

With the appointment, the municipality will have an experienced and change-oriented director with solid management experience from both the social and healthcare fields.

Tina Evaldsen comes from a position as head of the Danish National Board of Health and Welfare and was previously head of department at Paarisa. Here, she has worked specifically with health promotion and prevention and has gained extensive experience with interdisciplinary cooperation.

- Throughout her career, Tina Evaldsen has demonstrated strong skills in management, collaboration and development. She has an important understanding of the connections between well-being, prevention and children's development, and we look forward to using her experience in our work with our children and young people, says municipal director Ole Jakobsen in the press release.

The new director is also looking forward to it.

Tina Evaldsen is 49 years old and also has experience from Nuuk Municipality and is now looking forward to returning to the municipality in a new role.

She will take office on 1 May 2026.
