Municipal director of the Municipality of Kujalleq, Randi Vestergaard Evaldsen, has this week come up with particularly harsh criticism of the Self-Government.
She believes that Naalakkersuisut has failed in connection with the case that Naalakkersuisut decided in November 2024 to take over the administration of the areas within children, youth and the disabled from the Municipality of Kujalleq.
According to the municipal director, the handling by the Self-Government is characterized by "lack of structure, lack of documentation and insufficient coordination," which has created insecurity and dissatisfaction among the municipality's citizens.
Olsen: Criticism in the press not appropriate
Naalakkersuisoq Nivi Olsen (D) is now responding to the criticism in a press release, where she expresses, among other things, that she is not very in favor of the public criticism from the municipal director:
"It is not appropriate for criticism of the suspension to be exchanged in the press. Instead, I want a constructive dialogue, based on facts, tangible knowledge and joint work on the further process." says Nivi Olsen, who is Naalakkersuisoq for Children, Youth, Families and Internal Affairs.
According to Nivi Olsen, her department has initiated the preparation of a report in collaboration with the accounting firm BDO, which will contain recommendations for how the area is returned to the municipality on a solid basis.
A structure has been created and things have been cleaned up
The mayor of Kujalleq Municipality has also been offered the opportunity for the department's civil service to review the results with the municipality and the process surrounding the suspension. This should provide an overview of the work and the current status.
Nivi Olsen thanks the employees who have worked with the suspended area, and she says that a structure has been created and things have been cleaned up:
"Together you have created a structure, cleaned up cases, hired new colleagues and strengthened the entire effort in the children, youth and disability area." says Nivi Olsen.
