A person has been reported to the police for blackmailing someone else. This is according to Greenland Police Chief Aputsiaq Hansen.
- The person has been reported for sextortion. This means that the person has threatened to share intimate images if the other person does not pay the blackmailer, says Aputsiaq Hansen.
Any form of blackmail is illegal, and especially blackmail by sharing private images with others can always be reported to the police, the chief emphasizes.
The case is being investigated
Aputsiaq Hansen states that the case is being investigated by the police.
- I cannot therefore comment further on the case, either about the reporter or the person reported. But I would like to emphasize that one should always be careful about sharing one's own pictures with others, says Aputsiaq Hansen.
The police encourage citizens to always contact the police if they experience any form of blackmail. Also when it comes to blackmail of the sexual kind.
