DMI has issued a so-called category 2 storm warning with hurricane force winds for the Nuuk and Paamiut areas.
In Nuuk, the warning is valid from Wednesday morning at 06:00 to Wednesday morning at 11:00.
DMI expects storms with winds of 25-25 m/s from the southeast during this period, as well as hurricane force winds of 33-33 m/s.
The storm is expected to hit earlier in Paamiut, where the warning is valid from Wednesday at 03:00 to 09:00.
In Paamiut, DMI expects a storm with winds of 25-28 m/s from the southeast, with gusts of hurricane force of 33-34 m/s.
Sermersooq Municipality urges citizens to take precautions:
- Citizens and companies in Nuuk and Paamiut are urged to secure loose objects, including building materials, boats and the like, writes Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq on Facebook.
The municipality states that you can contact the Emergency Service on 113 in case of emergency situations.
