The Danish government is to meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the Munich Security Conference.
The parties are to discuss Greenland here.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen tells the Danish press on her way to the conference.
She also says that there are apparently challenges for several American politicians in relation to their departure from the USA.
- There are problems in the USA with the departure of some of the American politicians, but we have arranged several meetings with American politicians, including the US Secretary of State, also about Greenland, says Mette Frederiksen.
This could then be the second meeting of the new working group between the USA and the Kingdom of Denmark, which was established after Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen's (M) visit to Washington D.C.
The security conference in the German city of Munich is an annual highlight in security policy.
Last year, the US Vice President, J.D. Vance, outlined a new development.
Here, the Vice President made it clear that the US is far from satisfied with the European countries.
Since then, the conflict over Greenland has escalated.
The security conference also highlights this in a video presenting the conference, where the crisis over Greenland is bleakly portrayed.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen describes a so-called "Greenland moment" that has made Europe wake up even more.
- If you know how to exploit it, it's good, she says.
Mette Frederiksen experiences that a large part of Europe is standing stronger together in its resistance to American pressure.
For example, there was a clear and coordinated response when the President of the United States, Donald Trump, warned of a new trade war against the countries that helped the Kingdom of Denmark in the Arctic.
- Then Europe replied that it is bad for employees, consumers and companies, but if you want a trade war, we will give back in the same coin. And it worked, says Mette Frederiksen.
