Police report unusually busy night

House riots, street disorder and suicide threats have characterized police work over the past 24 hours.

Chief of Police Aqqalu Petersen tells Sermitsiaq that it has been an unusually busy night at the Greenland Police.

- We have had many cases of house riots, street disorder and suicide threats, says the chief of police.

The police have also opened two cases of violence, two cases of threats and one case of vandalism.

In Nuuk, police also arrested a driver for drunk driving early Saturday morning.

According to the chief of police, one person remains in custody Saturday morning for threats and intoxication. Several others have been arrested and taken to police detention during the night, the chief of police says.
