This is what the Greenland Police writes in a press release.

On Sunday evening at around 10:40 p.m., the Greenland Police received a report that two people had disappeared in Qeqertarsuaq. The two young people had been snowmobiling in the town since 4 p.m., and around 5 p.m., they were seen by a witness on Lyngmarksfjeldet riding a snowmobile.

Several citizens from the local area, together with the police, searched the mountains for the young people on Sunday evening and at 11:45 p.m. they were found in an accident with the snowmobile.

Both people are seriously injured and were transported to the nearest hospital. The young people remain in critical condition after the accident and will be transported Monday by Air Greenland's SAR helicopter to the hospital in Nuuk for further treatment.

The two young people are from the local area, and their relatives have been notified.

The police are conducting further investigations at the accident site.

Chief of Staff Karsten Højrup Kristensen from the Greenland Police's emergency center extends a big thank you to the citizens who helped with the rescue operation and helped find the two young men.
