Woman dies in snowmobile accident

A woman died on Saturday in a snowmobile accident near Nuuk.

On Saturday, a fatal snowmobile accident occurred at the ski lift near Nuuk.

This was reported by the Greenland Police Chief, Jørgen Madsen, to Sermitsiaq.

The police received a report at 1:25 p.m. that a snowmobile had hit a building at the ski lift and had caught fire, and that a female driver of the snowmobile was dead.

The chief says that the police and fire department responded to the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the woman showed no signs of life and her life could not be saved.

The woman is in her 40s, and her relatives have been notified.

According to the chief of police, everything indicates that this was an accident where the woman hit the building by the ski lift head-on, but the case is still under investigation.
