Nanna Møller, 16, left a clear mark on the championships. She won all the races she entered – even though she had to sit out the 10 km distance on the opening day due to illness.

The women's field was generally characterised by a strong generation of young people. Marika Magnussen (18) and Sasja Joelsen Hendriksen (19) were both at the forefront and, together with the more experienced Olympic participant Ukaleq Slettemark (24), helped to ensure a high level in the competitions.

This year's Greenland Cross-Country Skiing Championships in Nuuk clearly pointed in one direction: The young runners are really taking hold of the top – especially among the women.

This is what the cross-country skiing committee writes in a press release.

The picture was more clear-cut for the men. Bent Salling put in a strong performance and won all distances. In the sprint, however, he was challenged by 18-year-old Qunaaq Jensen, who showed promising pace.

The organizing club NUP was behind a very nice and well-run championship in Nuuk. The championships brought together participants across generations – from children to veterans – and also featured participation from para-athletes. This underlined both the breadth and development of Greenlandic cross-country skiing.
