Helicopter flight from Tasiilaq is canceled on Friday due to technical problems. This is reported by Air Greenland.
Spare parts have otherwise been sent off with a SAR helicopter. But that hasn't helped with the challenges:
- We are really sorry to announce that we continue to have technical problems with our helicopter in Tasiilaq. A spare part that came with the SAR helicopter to Tasiilaq this afternoon unfortunately did not solve the problem, and our technicians are working on troubleshooting, Air Greenland writes on its website.
Bad flying weather
The helicopter cannot therefore be expected to take off today, Friday.
Air Greenland also states that bad flying weather is expected over the weekend, which means that the departure between Nuuk and Kulusuk must be moved to Tuesday 20 January.
- We understand that this can be both frustrating and disruptive for the travelers and their plans. We are following the situation closely to find a solution as soon as possible and will keep travelers updated as soon as we know more, it says.
