Nivi Olsen takes over Mads Pedersen's former areas of responsibility

First, the chairman of Naalakkersuisut, Jens-Frederik Nielsen (D), took over responsibility for the Department for Children, Youth, Families and Home Affairs. Now handed over to another member of Naalakkersuisut.

December 9 announced then member of Naalakkersuisut Mads Pedersen that he resigned from his post for personal reasons with immediate effect.

Since then, the chairman of Naalakkersuisut has taken care of Pedersen's areas of responsibility, which are children, young people, families and home affairs.

Naalakkersuisut informs that the responsibility for the Department for Children, Youth, Families and Home Affairs is now taken over by another member of Naalakkersuisut, namely Nivi Olsen (D):

- Naalakkersuisut has appointed Nivi Olsen as the new Naalakkersuisoq for the Department for Children, Youth, Families and Home Affairs. Naalakkersuisoq Nivi Olsen continues to retain responsibility for the Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church, writes Naalakkersuisut in a press release.

- With the appointment, continuity is ensured in the work in the area, and Naalakkersuisut looks forward to further cooperation, it goes on.

Since the autumn meeting ended, two members have left Naalakkersuisut; Mads Pedersen (IA) and Bentiaraq Ottosen (A).

Any new members of Naalakkersuisut must first be approved by Inatsisartut, and this can happen at the earliest when parliament reconvenes. According to the plan, it will take place on February 3. However, there have been reports from the party leaders that the plans to gather Inatsisartut are being pushed forward due to the situation in the USA.
