Senators in the US are waiting to vote against an attack on Greenland

In the future, there will be a vote on invasions of several countries, including Greenland, says an American senator.

It is expected that that the Senate of the United States will at some point vote on a law to limit the ability of the President of the United States Donald Trump to try to invade Greenland.

This is stated by the Democrat Tim Kaine, elected in Virginia, and the Republican Rand Paul, elected in Kentucky, during a joint meeting with journalists.

- You are going to see proposals for war powers made about Cuba, Mexico, Nigeria and Greenland, says Tim Kaine.

On Thursday, a vote is expected on whether to halt further military action in Venezuela unless Trump receives congressional approval.

Tim Kaine and Rand Paul are among the initiators behind that proposal.

Rand Paul says he will "keep an open mind" about a future bill to stop a possible US invasion of Greenland.

He goes on to say that he has not heard of any of his party colleagues supporting military action in Greenland.

On Saturday, the United States sent soldiers to Venezuela to depose President Nicolas Maduro, who is now on American soil.

Subsequently, Trump has reiterated his desire that he wants to take control of Greenland, which is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
