For Nuuk Rental, which started in 2023, the development has only gone one way and that is up. In 2023, the company had 10 cars for rental. Today, they have over 50, which are rented out to both locals and tourists.
In addition, they have also seen a gap in the market for shuttle services – i.e. car rental with a driver.
– It is going really well, says Nick Olsen, who is the owner of Nuuk Rental and the subsidiary Shuttle.gl together with Manu-Malik Kreutzmann Petersen and Ville Nikolaj Olsen.
High-quality transport solutions
Following the opening of Nuuk Airport in November 2024, Nuuk Rental experienced an increasing demand for private transport, premium services and transport in connection with official visits.
– Nuuk is undergoing significant development as an international destination, and we want to be part of the infrastructure around transport and mobility in the city. Therefore, we have now established a new subsidiary, Shuttle.gl, which functions as a dedicated service company with a focus on high-quality transport solutions. In the future, we can therefore provide both car rental and shuttle services. This means that we can handle larger transport tasks, for example in connection with cruise ships, official visits, delegations and larger groups that need shuttle transport and rental cars. We also want to be a stable local transport partner for both citizens, companies and visitors to Nuuk, says Nick Olsen and adds:
– We also offer premium cars to business customers who visit Nuuk and need comfortable transport during their stay.
Servicing guests in private planes
Nuuk Rental has on several occasions provided chauffeur service for official visits as well as transport for delegations and groups that need several cars upon arrival in Nuuk.
– In addition, over time, we have also provided airport shuttle and private transport to high-end customers, including guests arriving by private plane.
Buses for transporting larger groups
The cars that the company uses for chauffeur services and airport shuttle are Mercedes-Benz EQVs, which can accommodate 6 passengers. And as a premium car for rental, the company has purchased the Mercedes GLE 400e.
– We have also purchased two buses, which will arrive at the beginning of May. They are Mercedes-Benz Sprinter buses with space for 22 passengers each. They will be used, among other things, for transporting larger groups, such as cruise tourists and larger delegations, says Nick Olsen and adds:
– Our goal is to provide stable and professional transportation solutions, whether for individuals, delegations or larger groups.
