Exports get off to a great start to the year

Exports reached 1 billion kroner during January and February, preliminary figures show.

The export value of shrimp in January-February 2026 increased by 20.8 percent compared to the same period last year, writes Statistics Greenland.

Exports of fish products have gotten off to a very good start, according to a new report from Statistics Greenland.

The report looks at the most important fish products that Greenland usually exports abroad, which are shrimp, cod, halibut, crab and rockfish roe, and it shows a significant increase in the first two months of the year compared to the same period last year:

- The export value in the period January-February was 1,011 million. DKK.

- Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 223 million. DKK, corresponding to 28.3 percent, writes Statistics Greenland.

The Statistics Office emphasizes that the figures are preliminary figures and should therefore be interpreted with caution.

As the graph shows, the first two months of 2026 have far exceeded the same period in the previous five years.

Regarding the individual species, the price per kilo has increased across the board.
