Mining company buys into South Greenland company

Mining company Critical Minerals Corp has bought a stake in 60° North Greenland.

The company 60° North Greenland, based in Qaqortoq, announces that the Australian-American mineral resources company Critical Metals Corp. has bought a stake in the company.

In connection with the transaction, the previous owner Rasmus Christian Rasmussen will step down from the ownership group, but he will continue in a consulting role and as chairman of the board.

Malik Vahl Rasmussen will continue as CEO.

60° North Greenland states that the agreement strengthens the foundation for further growth, and the collaboration with Critical Metals Corp. is about exploration services, mine development at Tanbreez and future mining operations at Tanbreez.

According to the company, up to 200 jobs could be created. In 2025, 60° North Greenland had 69 employees during the peak season.

Will work for local development

Director Malik Vahl Rasmussen sees great prospects in the development of the raw materials sector based on the deal:

- This agreement is not only about growth in our company - it is about the direction Greenland.

- We are in the middle of a development where the raw materials sector can become a strong supplement to the existing industries and thus a fourth leg in the Greenlandic economy, says Director of 60° North Greenland, Malik Vahl Rasmussen.

He says that it is important that the development takes place with a strong local anchoring:

The transaction is subject to various regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed when they are received.
