The association for dog sled drivers, KNQK, now brings news on the matter that US Special Envoy Jeff Landry plans to attend Avannaata Qimussersua 2026.

KNQK writes that the association has been informed that the tourist company, which has invited Jeff Landry, has single-handedly withdrawn its invitation.

- This is reassuring for KNQK, and we take note of it, writes KNQK.

Last week, Jeff Landry stated that he was planning a trip to Greenland in March, and Member of Parliament Aaja Chemnitz (IA) told several media that, according to her information, Landry will attend the traditional dog sled race.

Tourist operator and local politician, Kristian Jeremiassen, has previously confirmed that he has sent an offer to Landry to come and see Avannaata Qimussersua. KNQK does not write whether it is this specific offer that has been withdrawn.

It is also unknown whether the withdrawal of the invitation affects Jeff Landry's plans to go to Greenland in March.

Jeff Landry has repeatedly repeated President Donald Trump's demand that the US should take over Greenland.

When the Vice President of the United States, J.D. Vance, and the American runner-up Usha Vance last year visited Greenland, Usha Vance should have gone to the dog sled race. The Vance couple changed plans and she didn't come to dog sledding. This happened, among other things, after various protests over the visit.
