The 2026 general election ended with a new Høegh-Dam in focus, IA as the largest party and election defeats to Demokraatit and Siumut. See photos from the day here.

Qarsoq Høegh-Dam was the big winner with 4619 personal votes.

IA was the winner of the election with 28.6% of the votes.
The polling station in Nuuk closes. 54% of those eligible to vote voted at the polling station in Nuuk. Nationwide, the total voter turnout was 52.3%.
Siumut's leader, Aleqa Hammond, at Siumut's election party at Takuss. For only the second time in history, Siumut did not have a candidate elected to the parliament, and ended up with a disappointing election with 16.4% of the votes.
Ellen Schärfe made a political comeback for Atassut and won a fine election with 1553 personal votes. Atassut, however, became the smallest party with 10.7% of the votes.

The ruling Demokraatit party won a poor election with 17.6% of the votes. Here, it is parliamentary candidate Napaartoq Petrussen at the election party.
In stark contrast to the last Inatsisartut election, the press booths at the polling station in Nuuk were empty.

Naaja H. Nathanielsen is following the latest election results with interest. She ends up with the 3rd most personal votes, but when IA becomes the largest party, she gets a seat in the parliament.
