A good business with a skilled merchant at the helm, who makes money and creates value for both buyers and sellers, is classic business acumen.

Allan Kristoffersen, CEO of Brugseni since May 1 last year, is proof that he can deliver.

He is known for his winning personality. Allan Kristoffersen is also a top manager with great commitment, a good mood, and he has a reputation for being a modern and empathetic leader.

- If you have a good mood, it is contagious and has an impact on others, no matter where in the world you are. Allan is such a leader, who has faith that things will succeed for Brugseni.

- He is a very skilled merchant. And that is what it is all about in a supermarket, says the company's operations and sales manager Mark Kobberrød to Sermitsiaq.

Prioritizes customers highly

What is also important is that Allan Kristoffersen is a skilled and strong salesman who prioritizes customers highly. This is something that counts in a grocery company that is focusing on growth in turnover and earnings.

This is stated by both Mark Kobberrød and a centrally located source in a Danish consumer association who knows the CEO of Kalaallit Nunaanni Brugseni, KNB, in everyday speech Brugseni, well.

Before Allan Kristoffersen, his wife Eva Kristoffersen and the couple's two minor children moved their tent poles from their home in Holbæk to the Nuuk suburb of Nuussuaq in Greenland just over a year ago, he had been COOP Group CEO of COOP-owned Kvickly, SuperBrugsen and Brugsen.

From deficit to profit

He was fired in connection with an internal power struggle in COOP. In June 2024, COOP announced that the group was selling 35 stores and closing 19 stores. This meant that the position of Group CEO of Kvickly, SuperBrugsen and Brugsen was abolished.

The Danish businessman was hired in 2025 as CEO of the supermarket chain Brugseni, which had been struggling with large deficits. With the 2025 financial statements, Brugseni has turned a deficit into a profit for the first time in four years. At the same time, the company delivered strong growth in revenue compared to 2024.

Allan Kristoffersen is the architect of Brugseni's three-year strategy, "Brugseni shows the way", which the company started to roll out on January 1st of this year. The goal is to achieve a profit of between DKK 20 and 25 million after tax during the strategy period.
