Atassut's executive board is meeting today to decide on the next move in relation to the coalition.
Party chairman Aqqalu C. Jerimiassen tells Sermitsiaq.
Atassut has also criticized IA and D's members in Naalakkersuisut for running for the Folketing, and the party has not changed its mind, it says:
- We will discuss what we ourselves should do, and then I will hold a meeting with the chairman of Naalakkersuisut.
- We will also discuss whether we can find other compromises. But we insist that a naalakkersuisoq must work as a naalakkersuisoq, says Aqqalu C. Jerimiassen to Sermitsiaq, after it emerged on Friday that Siumut is leaving the coalition.
Múte: Cannot accept incorrect claims
Siumut's exit leaves Demokraatit, Inuit Ataqatigiit (IA) and Atassut in the coalition. At IA, party chairman Múte B. Egede is upset about Siumut's decision:
- I am sorry that the coalition cooperation in this critical time and under these difficult circumstances has been limited to being decided by this point, says Múte B. Egede.
However, he also states that the IA cannot accept Siumut chairman Aleqa Hammond's claims about possible violations of the law in connection with the two members of Naalakkersuisut, Naaja H. Nathanielsen (IA) and Anna Wangenheim (D), running for the parliamentary election:
- We cannot accept the Siumut chairman's completely incorrect claim that Inuit Ataqatigiit and Demokraatit have made a mistake, he says.
Múte B. Egede says that the IA will continue working in the coalition.
