The Greenland Police announced that a man has been charged with drunk driving on Sunday morning after an accident at a roundabout in Nuuk.

The accident occurred just between the pass and the start of Nuussuaq, where the man hit and knocked down a lamppost, says Chief of Police Karsten Højrup Kristensen.

The man left the car after the collision with the pole. However, the police caught him with the help of a witness to the incident. The man gave a blood test later in the morning.

The pole was lying on the side of the road on Sunday morning. The municipality has been informed, says the Chief of Police.
