- You should maybe try to compare it a bit with a company or an ice hockey or football team. It's all about constantly moving your players and people around, so you have the best possible lineup.
This is the reaction from the director of the business organization Greenland Business, Christian Keldsen, after Naalakkersuisoq for business, raw materials, energy and equality Naaja H. Nathanielsen (IA) has chosen to run for the Folketing.
- Now I know that there are others who will have strong oppositions to our own naalakkersuisoq running. But it is our opposition that we need experienced people who can represent Greenland in the Folketing, he says.
- And that experience must come from our own system.
Actually, Inuit Ataqatigiit had announced four candidates on Friday, but with the promise that one or more candidates would be presented this week.
On Monday, Naaja H. Nathanielsen joined the fight when she announced her candidacy on Facebook. In addition, Kupik V. Kleist announced yesterday that he is also running for IA.
Naaja H. Nathanielsen has been in the chair for a long time
With Naaja H. Nathanielsen's candidacy, two members of naalakkersuisut will be on the ballot on March 24. In addition to her, the naalakkersuisoq for health and people with disabilities, Anna Wangenheim (D), is also running.
This has met with a lot of criticism – including from the coalition party Atassut and most recently from Siumut, which is threatening to end government cooperation.
In addition, PPK, the professional organization for employees in the healthcare sector, is annoyed that Anna Wangenheim (D), with her experience within the healthcare sector, may now leave her post after a year.
- Anna Wangenheim has worked well in her ministerial post, and we would like to see that she does not leave the post prematurely, Navarana Johansen, the leader of PPK, stated yesterday in Sermitsiaq.
The Greenland Business Association is otherwise calm about the fact that their Naalakkersuisoq wants to run for the Folketing.
- That is the name of the game when it comes to politics, says Christian Keldsen.
- No matter how we turn it around, we are at least every four years in a situation where we have to deal with a different politician taking on a number of new positions.
- And you also have to remember that Naaja Nathanielsen also held this post before the election last year. So she has already been in that position for a long time, says the GE director.
Christian Keldsen thinks it is important to have experienced politicians in the Folketing, which is why he finds it positive that both Anna Wangenheim (D) and Naaja H. Nathanielsen (IA) have decided to run.
- It is important to have some talented people who know their political craft, says Christian Keldsen.
- And right now it is perhaps even more important than ever to have talented people in the Folketing.
