Lars Møller-Sørensen recently died in Denmark after a long illness, aged 62. The death was reported in the Danish political media Altinget.
Møller-Sørensen held several senior positions in Greenland over a quarter of a century and will be remembered for many things along the way.
He arrived in Greenland in 1995, where he became Human Resources Director at Mittarfeqarfiit and later held senior positions at KNI.
In 2014, he started working for KommuneqarfikSermersooq, where his career culminated in the position of municipal director from 2017 to 2021.
He made some controversial decisions about finances and housing policy along the way, which led to his resignation from office. He later founded a consulting company.
Lars Møller-Sørensen was accused last year of having given former politician Lars-Emil Johansen (S) a municipal job on false grounds. The case ended with both of them being acquitted of fraud in the High Court.
In his younger days in Denmark, Lars Møller-Sørensen was an active party politician for the Liberal Party as a youth leader and municipal politician in Kolding.
Lars Møller-Sørensen leaves behind three daughters, and he will be buried in Seest near Kolding on Saturday, writes the Altinget.
