Tusass reports that capacity has been reduced on the company's connections in Tasiilaq and nearby settlements because during last week's storm in the area, extensive damage was caused to OneWeb antennas.
Traffic has been moved to GreenSAT until repairs can be made, Tusass said in a press release from the weekend.
"We have a technician present in Tasiilaq and we are in the process of forming a complete overview of the situation. The antennas that have been damaged must be repaired before we can restore connections," says Thomas Hansen, Director of IT Service & Delivery at Tusass, and continues:
"In the meantime, traffic is being moved to GreenSAT so that citizens can continue to get online."
Tusass says that the affected connections include residential customers' internet access as well as a small number of business customers in Tasiilaq and the surrounding settlements of Isortoq, Kuummiut, Sermiligaaq, Tiilerilaaq and Kulusuk.
Tusass will return with an update as soon as the company has clarity on the expected time frame for the repairs. Until then, you can also follow the company's website for operational information:
