The report was received at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

For this reason, Nuuk Airport and the terminal have been evacuated, while the police investigate the case.

- A woman has been arrested and is suspected of having made a bomb threat at the airport in Nuuk. There will be a legal assessment as to whether the person arrested should be detained, the chief of police at the Greenland Police, Aqqalu Petersen, tells Sermitsiaq.

Legal consequences

He also points out that it is illegal at any time to make bomb threats or to have conversations about bombs in general while at an airport.

- When an incident of bomb threats is reported, we have a procedure where we arrest, investigate and question. The consequence will be at least a fine for the arrested person, says Aqqalu Petersen.

The duty officer states that the procedure is the same at all airports and terminals in Greenland.
