Sasja Joelsen Hendriksen, Marika Magnussen, Elias Nordahl and Qunaaq Jensen, cross-country skiing stars, got off to a strong start at the Junior World Cross-Country Skiing Championships in Lillehammer, where they competed in the 1.4 km sprint.

All four delivered their best races this season and can therefore be very satisfied with their performance in the strong international field. It was a solid debut against some of the world's leading cross-country skiing nations.

Marika Magnussen achieved the team's best result with a 46th place among 79 participants. She was just seven seconds away from a place in the quarter-finals and also delivered the best placement of the day for the Greenlandic/Danish team across both boys and girls.

The team experienced great support during the competition, with around 25 visiting supporters from Greenland – family, ski friends and representatives from GIF – creating a strong atmosphere around the runners.

Three of the runners will start the 20 km distance on Wednesday, while Qunaaq Jensen will instead focus on the 10 km race on Friday. With personal season-best performances, the juniors have gained a good foundation for the rest of the championship.
