Sasja Hendriksen, Marika Magnussen, Qunaaq Jensen and Elias Nordahl Wallbohm will represent Greenland.
The selection is described by the Greenland Ski Association as "an important breakthrough for Greenlandic cross-country skiing and is a direct result of increased focus on developing young talent," it says in a press release.
The Greenlandic youth national team has completed an eight-day talent gathering in Saalfelden, Austria, where the runners also participated in the Austrian championships in sprint and distance.
"In the sprint, Qunaaq Jensen, Malik Olsen, Sasja Hendriksen Joelsen and Marika Magnussen qualified for the semi-finals - a great result in a field with a high international standard and important experience on the way to international level," says the ski association.
Great will and discipline
National coach Martin Møller says:
"The runners have shown great will and discipline and a clear development in both technique and mental strength. The results in Austria show that our focus on talent development is paying off."
The Greenland Ski Association states that the experiences from Austria will now be a central part of the further talent development with the Junior World Championships as both a highlight and an important step in building the future of Greenlandic cross-country skiing.
