Record profit again in Arctic Import

The profit will be invested in Greenland, says the CEO.

The Greenlandic-Danish company Arctic Import is doing well.

This is shown by the company's annual accounts, which were published in connection with the company's general meeting on Friday.

The group's profit and loss statement for 2025 shows a profit of DKK 15.9 million compared to a profit of DKK 13.9 million in 2024, while the group's balance sheet shows equity of DKK 50 million, December 31, 2025.

CEO Thomas Hjort is also satisfied with the result and emphasizes that it has been realized in a time of political unrest and a new reality. But he is also quick to pass on the credit for the good result to the employees.

- Arctic Import is nothing without our talented employees. Many have been with us for years, and especially in the current situation in Greenland, it is clear that we as a company must take greater responsibility for well-being and security in the workplace, says Thomas Hjort.

- We were founded in Greenland almost 50 years ago, and we expect to stay there for the next 50 years. Regardless of what happens in Greenland, we will be there. We have promised our customers and our employees that, and we will keep that promise.

A tremendous year

Thomas Hjort is supported by Rikke Larsen, CFO of Arctic Import.

- We are exiting 2025 with a result that we can be proud of. It was in many ways a tremendous year for Greenland and for our employees, customers and business partners. Their continued trust in us and confidence that we are in Greenland, no matter what the future brings, is the foundation of our business.

The surplus will be invested in Greenland, where Arctic Import will continue its investments in a new headquarters at Qeqertanut in Nuuk. The new headquarters is expected to be inaugurated around the end of 2026 and will help strengthen the group's local roots in Greenland and create a better framework for future growth and efficient operations, explains Thomas Hjort.

- The headquarters will increase storage capacity, create more local jobs and apprenticeships and strengthen the logistics chain to the rest of Greenland. All with the aim of creating an even better framework for servicing Arctic Import's customers, while the company will be even better equipped to support growing tourism.

Arctic Import expects the new headquarters in Nuuk to be ready for inauguration at the end of 2026.

Throttling down in the Faroe Islands

Arctic Import has the entire North Atlantic as its market with employees in Nuuk, Reykjavik and Aalborg, while there was a reduction in the Faroe Islands last year, when the Faroese subsidiary was sold after the company had been in the country for 25 years.

- It was not an easy decision, but we believe it was the right one. We will continue to be present in the Faroe Islands in the future, but where in the now sold business we had a focus on consumer goods, furnishings and interiors, in the future we will focus on food for larger retail customers, says Thomas Hjort.

At the same time, Arctic Imports' wholesale business in Iceland continued to grow in 2025.

- Together with cost and organizational optimizations, this has strengthened overall earnings. In addition, work is ongoing on digitalization and streamlining of processes. This has increased productivity, created greater stability in costs and contributed significantly to the year's result, says Thomas Hjort.
