Naalakkersuisut comes to the rescue of the commercial prisoners

Up to and including 31 December 2025, persons with a commercial hunting license can continue hunting for wolverines. This is due to a lack of income opportunities in certain administrative areas, says Naalakkersuisut.

Commercial trappers can catch up to 20 loons per day up to and including 31 December 2025. But they may only sell the catch in their respective management areas.

Naalakkersuisut announces that they have decided to extend the hunting period for red foxes in zone 3 - which is from and including Qeqertarsuaq to and including Nanortalik for people with commercial hunting licenses.

The hunting period is extended to apply up to and including 31 December 2025 midnight.

Lomvie hunting can take place with the same restrictions as stated in the current executive order for persons with commercial hunting licences, which are 20 lomvies per hunting day

Sales may only take place in their home administrative area.

- The extension of the hunting period is due to a lack of income opportunities in certain management areas, including fewer purchases of sealskins, Naalakkersuisut states in a press release.
