Political focus lifts the Bank of Greenland's share price

The share price for Grønlandsbanken A/S has risen significantly in recent days. The reason is clearly the political attention from the USA, the investment economist estimates.

The bank is headquartered in Nuuk, but is traded on the stock exchange in Copenhagen.

The first trading days of the year on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange have been favorable for Grønlandsbanken A/S, whose shares have risen by 29 percent.

- It is definitely about Donald Trump, says investment economist Per Hansen from the trading platform Nordnet.

Per Hansen elaborates for the Danish financial media Euroinvestor, that there are several reasons why investors want to buy into a bank in Greenland.

Firstly, there are notions of a lot of future investments in Greenland. At the same time, it may be about expectations that momentum will be further strengthened, the investment economist believes.

- It is clear that the more times this is mentioned in the radio newspaper or in the TV newspaper or a weekly magazine, the more people think that there is very good publicity value in this, we can make a coin out of it, says Per Hansen to Euroinvestor.

The bank has a market value of almost two billion kroner.
