Last year, four Greenlandic museums received a total of 1.8 million DKK in grant from the Danish state. This amount will be increased by one million DKK this year, so each museum will receive 700,000 DKK.

- The grant aims to strengthen Greenlandic museums' work in communicating, preserving and promoting local cultural heritage, including in the form of improved exhibition spaces and up-to-date magazines, according to the Ministry of Culture, which received a so-called act approved on March 6 by the Danish Parliament's Finance Committee.

The grant is based on an agreement between the government, SF and Radikale Venstre back in 2024, where it was agreed how the North Atlantic Fund would be implemented from 2025 until 2028.

The document states the following:

- This is a Danish initiative outside the scope of the Museum Act in Greenland, which is why the initiative does not require the formal approval of Naalakkersuisut. Naalakkersuisut is informed about the initiative, but has not been further involved in the specific proposal for implementation.
