HH and Kimmernaq for Pan-ArcticVision

Hans-Henrik Suersaq Poulsen and Kimmernaq Kjeldsen represent Greenland in this year's Pan-ArcticVision.

- We are really looking forward to it and are very excited, Hans-Henrik Suersaq Poulsen (HH) tells AG.

Pan-ArcticVision is a response to the need for Arctic regions that cannot participate under their own flag in international arenas, such as the Olympics or Eurovision.

When musicians HH and Kimmernaq were informed that they would be participating in Pan-Arctic Vision, they at first thought that their role was simply to deliver a musical performance. They later found out that they would actually be participating in the competition.

- Before the joy and excitement started, we were a bit nervous. But ajunngilaq, it will be fun, we thought. Slowly we started to accept it, says Hans-Henrik Suersaq Poulsen.

Kimmernaq and HH will be joined on stage by guitarist Jaqqa Petersen, who lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and works as co-director of the Alianait Arts Festival.

- The music genre we will use is an electronic mix with traditional elements, including Greenlandic drumming and singing, says Hans-Henrik Suersaq Poulsen.

He hopes that they will do well in the competition and is looking forward to hearing from the other participants.

- It is always desirable to strive for the best possible result, no matter what you are working on. But it would of course be a big plus if we won. But the most important thing for me is that we have fun, says Hans-Henrik Suersaq Poulsen.

Pan-ArcticVision 2025 takes place on 29 November in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
