Journalist and author Martin Breum has launched a new one podcast series , where he interviews researchers and other experts from Denmark, Greenland and the rest of the Arctic on topics such as Trump, the spiral campaign, rearmament, cryolite, forced removals of children, fishing quotas and much more.
- Hopefully, in this way, the listeners will have the opportunity to put the many news in a larger context and formulate positions in an informed, fact-based basis. In a Trump era, where facts and truth are challenged by distortions and falsehoods it is more important than ever that we keep firmly in reality, says Martin Breum.

Deep self-examination and emotional reckoning
The first episode is already online, and it is about the Danes' own perception of the Danish efforts in Greenland during the colonial period and up to the present day.
– The classic Danish tale that everything in Greenland is done for good for Greenland and to the honor of Denmark, is strongly challenged. The spiral case, the forced removal of the many children of Greenlandic families in Denmark, the adoptions, the cryolite case and other cases make it gradually impossible to maintain the old one narrative. Therefore, according to Associate Professor Kirsten Thisted, a great many Danes are there teaches at Ilisimatusarfik and the University of Copenhagen, starting with deep self-examination and emotional confrontation, says Martin Breum, who for more than 15 years have worked extensively with Greenland and the Arctic.
Ownership and control over Greenland
The upcoming episodes will be more political. Here will be a new proposal for how Donald Trump's claim for ownership and control of Greenland may be averted be illuminated.
Later, Martin Breum also has an interview with Sara Olsvig about Greenland's own rapprochements with the USA, and finally there is also an episode where will be dug deep into the plans for rearmament in Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
The podcast is produced by Videnskab.dk and Jakob Gottchau in collaboration with DIIS and Nasiffik - center for foreign & security policy at Ilisimatusarfik, University of Greenland. The podcast is supported by the Carlsberg Foundation.
