"Been there, done that" – influencer will now focus on Inatsisartut

Greenland's biggest influencer, Qupanuk Olsen, is now a member of Inatsisartut. Her 1.6 million followers will notice the change, as she will post less frequently in the future. We met her the day after the election to record a podcast and hear about her new reality.

Qupanuk Olsen's many followers will hear a little less of her in the coming time. Now she will be a member of Inatsisartut.

When Sermitsiaq meets Qupanuk Olsen at Naleraq's office in Inatsisartut the day after the election, she knows exactly where the offices are.

But as newly elected has she has not yet received keys to the building. That's why she needs help party consultants and members of Inatsisartut to be shown around the party corridor.

For five years she has been Greenland's biggest influencer, and has never had competitors when she has to gather people. Politics is a new world where she quickly learned about power struggles during the election campaign.

She has also realized how important it is weighing one's words. It became clear when she was criticized by colleagues and citizens to ask how many commit suicide because they don't speak Danish. That experience taught her a lesson.

- After that, I understand how important it is to choose yours words with care, she says.

Qupanuk Olsen is known throughout the world, and also in Greenland. But her 1.6 million followers must expect to see less of her in the future.

- I feel that I have achieved what I wanted with Q's Greenland. It makes it easier to let go because I feel “been there, done that" (I've already been there, ed.).

- Now is the time to move on, says Qupanuk Olsen, who has received 202 personal votes.

And she knows what she wants to prioritize when Inatsisartut gathering starts.

- I hope we can come up with a proposal so that we can change the time zone back to UTC-3. And then drop summer and winter time. Thus we can have one time zone that matches the position of the sun, says Qupanuk OIsen.
