Bus collides with snowplow and burglary in Uummannaq

It has been an eventful 24 hours for the Greenland Police. A traffic accident in Nuuk caused chaos on the airport road on Monday afternoon, while a leisure club in North Greenland has had uninvited guests.

It has been a busy and unusual 24 hours for the police in Greenland.

On Monday at 12:00, an unusual collision occurred in Nuuk, when a bus and a snowplow crashed into each other on the airport road.

Although the equipment was damaged, fortunately no injuries have been reported in connection with the accident, according to the police. The police have no further comments on the cause of the collision at this time.

Burglary in leisure centre

In Uummannaq, the police are currently investigating a burglary at a leisure club. The incident took place between Sunday, March 8 and Monday, March 9 – probably under cover of darkness.

The report was received by the police yesterday, Monday.

- We are investigating the case, but cannot comment further on the details of the case at this time, says the police's Chief of Police Aputsiaq Hansen.

Busy 24 hours across the country

In addition to the two notable incidents, the police have had their hands full with a number of other cases during the day. Reports have been received of everything from vandalism and fraud to more serious incidents such as violence, domestic unrest and suicide threats.

In addition, there have been reports of street disorder. The police state that in the interests of the investigation and the parties involved, they cannot elaborate further on these cases at this time.
