There must be increased mobility between Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland, believes the Moderates' transport spokesman, Peter Have.
He shares his thoughts in his response to the media outlet Fagbladet Luftfart, which asked various parties about their plans for the area.
- It is expensive to travel up there, and it could well be that we should look at whether some of the support kroner we give can be used to make flights cheaper, says the spokesman.
Peter Have imagines targeting cheap tickets to specific groups such as students and pensioners. It could also be Danes who want to study or do research in Greenland or the Faroe Islands.
– The Commonwealth and the Kingdom are something we must protect, and we must involve Greenland and the Faroe Islands in the decisions we make, emphasizes Peter Have.
There are already opportunities for Greenlandic students in Denmark who want help with the trip to Greenland. In 2025, 205 people took advantage of the offer of return tickets for 1,000 kroner.
